The article mentioned that the Mayor of Pasadena spoke with her but didn’t offer an apology. Some comments indicated they didn’t think he should apologize since he was not the one who wronged her. I still think he should have, though.
Sometimes an apology to someone is not because of what you personally did to them, it’s because you’re both human and you regret that another human being was made to feel they were ever considered to be less than a person of value. Even an apology coming from someone else can soothe a person. Even if they don’t think it matters. it still can offer comfort.
