Reposted this from FB. The comments were overwhelming supportive of President Clinton, which is cool, but it just made me shake my head a little.
I have the utmost respect for Bill Clinton. I think he was a fantastic president, you know except for that Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell stupidity and dragging out the Monica Lewinsky thing. (Dude should have just admitted it up front, taken his lumps and moved on. Instead we got the whole long dragged out Ken Starr impeachment saga)
I just find it … interesting … maybe … sad is more accurate that while Bill Clinton will mostly be remembered for being the husband of former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and a great statesman (probably in that order) but Monica Lewinsky will always be considered a punch line, no matter how many years go by and no matter what she’s accomplished since then (master’s degree in social psychology from the London School of Economics. Not too shabby).
It’s a shame.
