Best comment on an article about a Republican Senator, Jeff Flake, who voted against background checks.
The GOP: “Making sure the mentally ill and suicidal have guns before they have health care”. Could serve as their 2016 platform!

You can read the full article on the Crooks and Liars website, but here’s some general info:
Caren Teves lost a son in the Aurora, Colorado movie theatre shooting. She wrote Flake a note inviting him to her home to “feel the emptiness and have dinner with us and discuss” guns with her and her family.
After receiving a form letter response, the Senator actually hand wrote a note expressing his condolences and indicating that they agree on strengthening background checks.
Then – he votes them down!!! Unbelievable.
No, actually, it’s totally believable.

So what’s the sin, again? April 23, 2013
